Corner Inlet College is seeking enthusiastic and committed Secondary Teachers to join our team in 2027.

Multiple part-time and full-time positions are available, with teaching loads determined according to each successful applicant’s curriculum areas and availability. We welcome applications from experienced teachers, early-career teachers and recent graduates.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can teach in one or more of the following curriculum areas:

• English

• Humanities

• Mathematics

• Science

• Digital and Design Technologies

About the role

As a Secondary Teacher at Corner Inlet College, you will support students to grow academically, socially and personally within a welcoming and community-focused school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with relevant curriculum requirements

• Differentiating teaching to support students with a range of learning needs

• Using formative and summative assessment to monitor student learning

• Providing students with clear and constructive feedback

• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment

• Building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues

• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, learning and achievement

• Contributing to curriculum planning and whole-school programs

• Participating in professional learning and school activities

• Supporting the College’s commitment to student safety and wellbeing

 

About you

We are looking for a teacher who is approachable, adaptable and genuinely committed to helping young people succeed.

The successful applicant will have:

• A current teaching qualification recognised in Victoria (such as a Bachelor of Education or equivalent). 'Permission to Teach' available.

• A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or eligibility to obtain registration

• Demonstrated expertise in at least one secondary subject area

• Strong pedagogical knowledge and the ability to deliver differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families

• A commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments

• The ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain student discipline and engagement

• Demonstrated proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools

• A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and contributing to whole-school initiatives

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people

• Experience in secondary education or equivalent teaching experience is highly valued

Previous secondary teaching experience is valued; however, graduate and early-career teachers are encouraged to apply.

We teach the full Victorian curriculum, differently. CIC operates on a distinctive eight-cycle calendar rather than four traditional school terms. This provides shorter teaching periods throughout the year, while school holidays remain aligned with the regular Victorian school calendar. The student day runs from 8.45 am to 3.00 pm.
