General Excellence Scholarship

Scholarship Overview

Corner Inlet College scholarships provide partial remission of tuition fees and are awarded to students who demonstrate strong potential to contribute positively to the College community. The number of scholarships offered, and the year levels available, will vary depending on the strength of the applicant pool and enrolment capacity.

All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal and are subject to ongoing review, typically conducted twice per year, to ensure recipients continue to meet the expectations of the College.

Corner Inlet College offers General Excellence Scholarships to students who demonstrate outstanding potential across academic achievement, leadership, dance and performing arts, community involvement, and personal character. Our programs are designed to foster deep learning, resilience and student voice within a supportive, high-expectation environment.

To apply for a Scholarship, please:

(a) Complete the enclosed application form

(b) Attach a copy of the applicant’s latest school report if available, not necessary for current students.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS


Please do not attach any documentation other than a photocopy of your most recent school report and NAPLAN results. Should you be invited to attend an interview, you may be asked to substantiate any prizes, awards or competition results with certificates or other relevant documentation.

All applications will be reviewed by a selection panel. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview. Final decisions will be based on the interview process and will take into consideration the breadth of each applicant’s achievements, as well as their level of involvement and contribution within both the College and the broader community.

SELECTION CRITERIA


Consideration will be given to:

A demonstrated breadth of interests and talents. Academic achievement and attitude to learning, as reflected in school reports. Alignment with the values, ethos and educational approach of Corner Inlet College, including a willingness to engage in both curricular and co-curricular programs.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SCHOLARSHIPS

  1. Corner Inlet College reserves the right not to award scholarships if the standard of applicants does not warrant it. The Principal retains full discretion regarding the number and value of scholarships offered.

  2. The College will not enter into correspondence or disputes regarding scholarship decisions.

  3. It is a condition of any scholarship that the awarded amount remains confidential between the family and the College. Parents/guardians will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

  4. Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress, demonstrate positive conduct, and actively contribute to the life of the College, including participation in co-curricular activities.

  5. Scholarships are awarded for the duration of a student’s secondary education at the College.

  6. Scholarships are subject to annual review and may be reduced or withdrawn if a student’s academic progress, attitude or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.

  7. Scholarships may also be reviewed if there is a breach of the College’s Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.

  8. All information provided within the application process, including reports, interview outcomes and any financial information, will be treated as strictly confidential.

  9. General Excellence Scholarship interviews will be conducted at Corner Inlet College. Not all applicants will be shortlisted for interview.

  10. An invitation to interview does not guarantee the offer of a scholarship. All offers will be made in writing by the Principal. Offers not accepted by the specified date will lapse.

  11. Scholarships apply to tuition fees only.

  12. Current students of Corner Inlet College, as well as prospective students who have submitted an enrolment application, are eligible to apply

All applicants, both successful and unsuccessful, will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
